THE PILL According to Oxford dictionary,a Pill is a small round mass of solid medicine for swallowing whole. Other synonyms for the term Pill  are Tablets, Pharmaceutical formulations, Capsule,Pellet, Lozenge, Pastille. But each formulation differs by structure or the state of formulation.  Broadly, the pharmaceutical formulations are classified as : 1) Solid dosage forms 2) Liquid dosage forms 3) Gaseous dosage forms A formulation to be sent out to the market for end users, requires to pass through various conditions, legal rules and regulations.
